Bullet hell shooter game for mobile

Bullet Hell Days is a free arcade game for mobile by developer Makoto Yanagisawa. It is a top-down action shooter that takes inspiration from classic titles from decades past that boast frantic bullet hell gameplay. It also employs a distinct steampunk theme for its design and presentation.

In classic bullet hell fashion, Bullet Hell Days serves up non-stop action and tough gameplay that will test players' skills and reaction times similar to games like Sky Force Reloaded or Bullet Hell Monday Black. It features various machines to unlock that can help players overcome challenging boss fights.

Cogs and lasers

Bullet Hell Days is a steampunk-themed bullet hell shooter that forgoes the usual waves of enemies and straight to boss battles themselves. It will have you facing all sorts of larger-than-life machinery made up of gears and cogs, and equipped with deadly laser weapons. You pilot a small ship and you will need to defeat these behemoths with the limited firepower you have at your disposal.

Combat in Bullet Hell Days are one-versus-one duels against enemies that grow increasingly tougher and more powerful across 160 stages. The real boss battle happens when you reach the last stage. Enemies have turret-like weapons mounted on them, of which some are active and others are not. Be cautious of hitting the latter since it will prematurely force them to activate, making the fight even harder.

What's more, every time you clear all 160 stages, you unlock a new ship to pilot. There are currently 12 unlockable ships available, each with unique weapons and special abilities. Now, one thing that is missing from the game is a pause button, which is an odd omission. Aside from that, everything else is pretty solid and fun to experience.

Fun and challenging

Bullet Hell Days manages to stand out from its contemporaries with its distinct boss-only battles. The gameplay is tough but rewarding as you get to unlock new ships to try out every time you succeed, encouraging you to do more runs. Lack of a pause feature aside, this is simply a fun and challenging bullet hell shooter that fans of the genre will enjoy. Recommended.
